Wise, the sculptor:

I do a lot of found-object stuff. Aspirational influences include Louise Nevelson, Lee Bontecou, John Chamberlain, Deborah Butterfield. Some early brutalists and dada folks. And folk artists. Folk art is, to me, the truest, most spontaneous art. Dallas Art Magazine called me a cross between Rube Goldberg and John Chamberlain. I like that. There’s a sculpture page if you’re into that side of things.

Wise, the writer:

Books, articles, poetry. When I’m not welding I seem to be writing. If I’m not doing one or the other I’m reading, or playing with the dogs, or walking. Favorite authors and poets are Thomas McGuane, Joan Didion, Ted Kooser, Jim Harrison and about thirty or forty more. My latest books are nonfiction and a book of poetry, 2022 and 2024 respectively. Go to the writing page if you’d like to know more, and thank you!

Pushcart … five nominations, and some finalist/shortlists but no cigar. If I win something, I’ll sure as heck mention it here and everywhere. I won the H. Palmer Hall Award for short fiction, but I’ve milked that about enough. Wait, just got a Best of the Net nomination, so there’s that. Thanks for reading.
